Empowering individuals with their rights as human beings
Persons served will be provided opportunities all throughout the day to make meaningful choices that interest the individual. In addition, each individual will be assisted in advocating for their human, legal, and service rights, promoting self-determination through decision making.
The individuals we support will learn about speaking up if someone is mistreating them, being assertive, and problem solving. We will also emphasize the individual’s self-awareness and insight. Persons with communication barriers will be assisted in using various communication systems and approaches. Individuals may be trained to use picture communication, signing, and electronic/adaptive devices.
