Engagement in meaningful activities
We believe each individual, when given the opportunity and if provided with the right support, can engage in meaningful activities that will result in giving back to their community through volunteering or integrated employment.
We encourage all individuals regardless of disability to maximize their abilities and become productive members of their community. Our goal is to help individuals find purpose through meaningful community engagement activities that align with their interests and abilities. Person’s served will be supervised by direct care staff who will engage individuals in activities based on their individual and groups goals.
Champions Of Ability is our non-profit organization allowing the individuals we support to help other non-profit organizations or public entities. Through VI’s non-profit, Champions of Ability, individuals with developmental disabilities get the opportunity to give back to their community by helping others in need while building the skills necessary to fully integrate into the community.
Volunteers in Action:
Vocational Innovations raised money and was able to purchase school supplies for Montvue Elementary School. The school drive went great! The people we support had a great time making and delivering the boxes full of supplies. The principal thanked each person individually.
