Who We Are:

We are an Adult Day Program with facilities in the Orange and Los Angeles County. Since 1998, we take great pride in providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities who wish to enhance their lives through vocational skills development and meaningful interactions with peers and members of the community.

We are looking for motivated candidates who are pursuing careers in abnormal psychology, mental health, sociology, social work, and developmental disabilities for our site in Pomona. Great opportunity for individuals seeking to gain experience in the field.

⦁ Site based work.
⦁ Operating hours, Monday through Friday, 6-7 hours/day (Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the individuals we serve).
⦁ Hourly compensation $14.00 – $14.50
⦁ Mileage reimbursement.
⦁ 7 vacation days, 3 sick days and 8 paid holidays per year.

What You’ll Do:

  • ⦁ Understand and support the goals in each program participant’s Person Centered Program (PCP).
    ⦁ Implement scheduled curriculum/activity options that reflect your program participant’s choices and PCP.
    ⦁ Provide supervision to our clients & ensure their safety while building a rapport with them.
    ⦁ Support the goal of self-advocacy for program participants.
    ⦁ Support, teach and supervise program participants in their daily activities and learning skills.
    ⦁ Encourage and inspire program participant’s active involvement in activities.
    ⦁ Interact with clients in an age-appropriate and respectful manner.
    ⦁ Advocate for services and supports that will enhance the quality of life for participants.
    ⦁ Produce and maintain all written daily documentation (meaningful case notes, logs & assessments, etc.) in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
    ⦁ Report unusual occurrences to the proper management staff, agencies, or law enforcement.
    ⦁ Attend scheduled in-service training, meet daily attendance requirements, and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for setting of limits for behavior.
    ⦁ Maintain a safe and clean environment in all facility and ground areas: always practice all safety measures.
    ⦁ Ensure assigned participants are accounted for at all times.
    ⦁ Transport client(s) to and from the site if that is the position vacant.
    ⦁ Assist clients with independent living skills and self-help skills training.
    ⦁ Assist with toileting, feeding and monitoring their lunch and break times.


What We’re Looking For:

  • ⦁ Must be at least 18 years old.
    ⦁ Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
    ⦁ Must be fluent and proficient in English, both reading and writing.
    ⦁ Must be proficient in basic computer skills.
    ⦁ Valid California driver’s license and has an excellent driving record, if transporting clients.
    ⦁ Have use of a safe automobile for the purpose of transporting clients, if that is the position that is necessary. Auto insurance must be in force a required by California State Law. Name must be listed on the policy. Current automobile registration.
    ⦁ Must have cleared or be able to clear fingerprint Live Scan/ background check.
    ⦁ Must have TB test clearance.
    ⦁ Ability to understand and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) objectives, chart clients’ progress, and effectively communicates with other staff, clients, and the community.
    ⦁ Ability to work with and develop clients’ potential, follows oral and written directions, and accepts responsibility.
    ⦁ Have some experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities. If no experience, 12 hours of extra continuing education will be provided within the first six months of employment.
    ⦁ Must be physically able to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
    ⦁ Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time during the workday, including bending, squatting, kneeling, stretching and stooping and reaching above shoulder level.
    ⦁ Mobility to ensure the safety of participants at all times.
    ⦁ Ability to push/pull and/or move up to 25 pounds.
