About Us
Vocational Innovations
We specialize in working with adults with developmental disabilities who are in need of positive supports to enhance their quality of life. We believe that every individual has learned a repertoire of behaviors including challenging behaviors as an adaptive response and means to communicate with their environment. We believe that through behavioral interventions and a person-centered approach, we can help create positive relationships. An Individualized Support Plan (ISP) is developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in partnership with the individual we support, their family, home staff, job coaches, management, and service coordinator.
Our facility provides individualized services and programming in the following domains:
- Activities of Daily Living
- Behavior Management
- Self-Advocacy
- Community Integration
- Work Adjustment
- Employment
What Our Partners Have To Say
“Vocational Innovations provided my company with a perfect match! I like the feeling of giving someone with disabilities an opportunity that sometimes wont be given by other employers”
-Brigitt, Bridgeway Forklift
“It has been an absolute pleasure to partner with VI’s PIP. The intern is a team favorite in Guest Services. He gets to fine-tune his awesome skillsets and explore new ones. We celebrate wins with impromptu dance parties. This experience has given him a sense of accomplishment and purpose. He often expresses that he wants to work here forever. I am grateful to be a part of this journey of discovery, hope and inspiration.”
-Leonora, City National Grove of Anaheim
“The Paid Internship Program helped us go paperless. The job coach provided by the program did all the training for the intern. We were able to tackle a project that had been long been put to the side while the intern received paid training through the program.”
-Fred, Summa Insurance
Staff Training
All of our employees receive Person Centered-Training as part of our commitment to embrace person-centered thinking and planning from our five certified PCT trainers.
Our staff also receive initial and ongoing training in Pro-Act, Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) and training from our Registered Nurse. Vocational Innovations has four certified ProAct trainers who provide initial and ongoing training to all direct care staff. ProAct is a nonviolent crisis intervention program that is safe, and designed to help staff provide the safest possible care.
The purpose of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training program is to assist staff in understanding the process of behavior escalation and how staff’s own behavior has a large impact on the behaviors of person served. This is further supported by ABA training designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
