About Us

Vocational Innovations

We specialize in working with adults with developmental disabilities who are in need of positive supports to enhance their quality of life. We believe that every individual has learned a repertoire of behaviors including challenging behaviors as an adaptive response and means to communicate with their environment. We believe that through behavioral interventions and a person-centered approach, we can help create positive relationships”. An Individualized Support Plan (ISP) is developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in partnership with the individual we support, their family, home staff, job coaches, management, and service coordinator.

Our facility provides individualized services and programming in the following domains:

  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Behavior Management
  • Self-Advocacy
  • Community Integration
  • Work Adjustment
  • Employment

Staff Training

All of our employees receive Person Centered-Training as part of our commitment to embrace person-centered thinking and planning from our five certified PCT trainers.

Our staff also receive initial and ongoing training in Pro-Act, Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) and training from our Registered Nurse. Vocational Innovations has four certified ProAct trainers who provide initial and ongoing training to all direct care staff. ProAct is a nonviolent crisis intervention program that is safe, and designed to help staff provide the safest possible care.

The purpose of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training program is to assist staff in understanding the process of behavior escalation and how staff’s own behavior has a large impact on the behaviors of person served. This is further supported by ABA training designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
